We also educate and prepare our clients to understand the meaning and context of the various advisory sessions and consultations with their healthcare providers. Twan also expresses amazement at what she refers to as a "doula's intuition," and why more doulas are needed who understand how to leverage both their knowledge and intuition for the good of their clients. Our free online support community is created and moderated by Uptown Doula for new and expectant parents and their families.

MINE-R-T Doula Company serves pregnant individuals and expecting couples in the Charlotte area by helping them navigate pregnancy and childbirth. How do you get a birth certificate if you give birth at home?
As a full scope doula, I continue to look for opportunities to expand my expertise and complete training to benefit my clients in other fertility, pregnancy, childbirth-related areas. As your birth coach, I intend to equip you with evidence-based information and empower you to advocate for all that you desire regarding your pregnancy, postpartum and childbirth journey. I serve all hospitals from Rock Hill to Winston Salem, birth centers, and home births with midwife present.
I took my first doula training with DONA International in 2014 and a second with The Birth Well in 2016. In an effort to support as many growing families as I can I've added childbirth education, placenta encapsulation and a handful of other offerings to the services I provide. I enjoy building relationships with not only my clients but also other professionals and am happy to connect the two when needed.

It is my goal to help that experience be as smooth and positive as it can possibly be – helping to preserve your birth as a memory you can treasure forever. I am originally from Virginia and began my doula career there. I am now excited to be offering my birth and postpartum doula services in Charlotte, NC and the surrounding areas. When not attending to the needs of my clients, you will find me hanging out with my amazing husband and homeschooling my three wonderful kids. Congratulations on one of the most exciting times of your life!

I'm Monica, a DONA International trained birth and postpartum Doula. After completing my training, I broadened my scope with additional training in the areas of infant/child CPR, choking and injury prevention, car seat safety, support in neonatal resuscitation and prenatal and infant loss support. As far as I can remember I have always been fascinated by the ability women have to grow, birth and nurture their babies. I became ecstatic when I found out that a Doula was a “thing”. I love children ( would have had 10+ if I could) and I absolutely loved being pregnant. As a nanny fresh out of high school I have assisted many families with caring for their children.
Meet my family!
Our free online support community is a great resource for new and expectant parents and their families. Get access to helpful articles, exclusive courses and events, and network with other Uptown Family members. If a doula’s qualifications do not include in-person training, an acceptable alternative is if the doula has worked, or is working, with a mentor to gain hands-on practitioner experience.
The doulas that work in partnership with Doulas of Charlotte have been hand-selected by Emily and Elizabeth to ensure that they reflect the values and professionalism the practice holds dear. The agency promotes these partnerships and long-term relationships to help raise the current standards of the doula community so they can best serve their clients. I am a birth doula certified through DONA International. I live in Mooresville, NC with my partner, Hilton; my two children Bowen and Laurel; and a spoiled rotten corgi named Boone. During my first pregnancy I attempted to take control over that fear and uncertainty around childbirth by learning as much as I could.
I’m passionate about lifting clients up throughout their lives — especially navigating pregnancy and the postpartum period. With the flexibility to come to you during pregnancy and early postpartum. I specifically am a pelvic floor physical therapist- which addresses bladder, bowel, sexual function, pelvic pain, and related orthopedic conditions. It doesn’t matter if it is a hospital, birth center, or homebirth, first or tenth baby, belly birth or vaginal, completely unmedicated, epidural, or somewhere in between.

My own experiences and struggles have given me a passion to help other mothers create the best opportunity for a successful natural childbirth. Just as a colony of bees supports the queen, the CLT Doula is here to support you. The working bees spend time foraging, nest building, and taking care of the brood. Feel confident that our doulas can assist and support you and your family during this incredible journey. Our Labor Doulas will provide you with knowledge and confidence and our Postpartum & Newborn Doulas will encourage your unique parenting philosophies. We offer the Charlotte area a full service concierge service to assist your family during the most exciting time in your lives.
It became glaringly evident to me that a woman’s pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences have a profound effect on her well-being and her ability to mother with confidence. I became a Radical Birthkeeper and a Holistic Postpartum Doula to serve women in the same loving way that I was served, and to initiate these powerful opportunities for thriving in a woman’s life. Doulas have experience in supporting individuals and families in a wide variety of settings and circumstances.
